For those who don''t know, Edcamp is a great series of free, unconferences for educators. The Edcamp model is unique in that attendees set the agenda the morning of the conference and the sessions are not led by one person, but are rather a collaboration of both the facilitator and attendees. I highly recommend Edcamps!

Lisa has been using Edmodo for 2.5 years and hosted an EdmodoCon viewing party, and "enjoyed both learning from the passionate speakers and the parallel discussions we had because of the sessions." I already use Edmodo as my online hub, but Cel.ly Keep those eyes peeled at Edcamp-- resources can be found anywhere!

I would not recommend STARTING to form a Professional Learning Network when attending a conference for the first time. I did not learn about ISTE, ECET2, or Flipcon from an advertisement online or in a mailer. Having an insatiable hunger to learn, I first dove into the professional education pool through Twitter.

It starts with 3 questions: 1) How Do We Learn ? Inquiry-based learning is a cornerstone of their approach. Moreover, I think it is the opportunity to engage with and learn with many that we do virtually each day. Edcamps and TeachMeets are another example of how this can happen. 2) What Can We Create ?
